Why Subject-Based Banding? • Students have different abilities in different subjects • To enable students to study their strong subjects to the highest level possible • NOT INTENDED to provide a softer option • To encourage greater interaction among students with different strengths and abilities 54

  42. What does Subject-Based Banding mean for your child? • Every child will be encouraged to do the subjects at the levels that best meet his ability • Subjects will be offered at Standard level or at Foundation level • Foundation Subjects - pitched at lower level than Standard Subjects 55
