  2. 8/28/2014 Future rulemaking • ADA – Title II entities - State and local governments, Title III entities, places of public accommodation • ABA – facilities built or altered with Federal grants and loans (ABA) • OPTIONS under the ADA – Use as guidance where no standards exist… (trails, picnic and camping facilities, viewing areas, and beach access routes) – Caution when considering use of outdoor recreation access routes - Contact DOJ – 800 514-0301 3 Emergency Transportable Housing • Final rule published May 7, 2014 • At least 5% mobility units when grouped on sites • Minimum of 10% of unit pads designed to accommodate accessible units • Requirements for kitchen water spray units, shower seats, bedroom clearances, installation of grab bars and shower seats • New exceptions for operable parts, ramps, and kitchen work surfaces • Weather alert systems also must be accessible and include a visual output 2
