Peter Greets Believers with a Blessing 1 Peter 1:1-2
Greeting 1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, 1 Peter 1:1
To those who are elect exiles of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, 2 according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood: 1 Peter 1:2
ELECTION To those who are elect exiles of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, 2 according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood: 1 Peter 1:2
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, 4 even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. Ephesians 1:3-4
ELECTION God has chosen, before the foundation of the world, to bestow blessing on His people through Jesus Christ. (All Agree)
ELECTION 1. We are all hopelessly dead in sin before God begins a work of grace in our hearts. 7 For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. Romans 8:7
ELECTION 2. God’s desire is that every human being will be saved. (Even Nero) 2 First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, 2 for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. 3 This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:1-4
ELECTION 3. Jesus paid the price for every person’s sin on the cross. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. 1 John 2:2
ELECTION 4. Every person who believes will be saved. “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Acts 16:31
ELECTION 5. Some people are elected for special favor. The Nation of Israel Abraham Saul/Paul
ELECTION 6. God works in different ways with different people in different times. “All are loved and welcomed into God’s family, but not all will choose to receive the blessing of grace by faith in Jesus Christ.” (Mary Ann’s View)

6 REASONS FOR JOY 3. OUR DIVINE PROTECTION 5 who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 1 Peter 1:5
If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31 … “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?” Hebrews 13:6
6 REASONS FOR JOY 4. OUR GROWING FAITH 6 In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, 7 so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 1:6-7
6 REASONS FOR JOY 5. OUR UNSEEN SAVIOR 8 Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, 1 Peter 1:8
Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” John 20:29
6 REASONS FOR JOY 6. OUR GUARANTEED DELIVERANCE 9 obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls. 1 Peter 1:9

10 Concerning this salvation, the prophets who prophesied about the grace that was to be yours searched and inquired carefully, 11 inquiring what person or time the Spirit of Christ in them was indicating when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the subsequent glories.
12 It was revealed to them that they were serving not themselves but you, in the things that have now been announced to you through those who preached the good news to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven, things into which angels long to look. 1 Peter 10-12
