Options 1-2: Expanded CTE and Work-Based Courses Additional ARL Courses Additional Work-Based Option - 1 Option - 2 Additional sections of popular GT Intern/Mentor, courses such as the Academy Apprenticeship, Site-Based Work of Finance and Academy of Experience and Work Release Health Professions

  4. Option 3: JumpStart HCC Shuttle HCC Campus-Based Dual Enrollment Option - 3 Students would spend one period per day at CHS or HoHS and then take a shuttle to HCC to participate in Dual Enrollment courses.

Important Note: Transportation Contingent upon interest, transportation will be available at no cost to families for the JumpStart HCC Shuttle • Students participating in the shuttle option will attend class for one period at Centennial or Howard and then use the HCPSS- provided shuttle to and from Howard Community College

  7. Option 4: Reassignment (CTE) PLTW STEM Options at Marriotts Ridge High School Option - 4 Students may choose to leave CHS and HoHS to attend MRHS and participate in the Project Lead the Way, Biomedical Science, Computer Science, or Aerospace program

  8. Project Lead the Way (PLTW) PLTW Biomedical Science Academy ● Four course sequence in the academy ● Popular program available in most districts in Maryland-first time in HCPSS ● College credit available through Stevenson University

  9. Project Lead the Way (PLTW) PLTW Computer Science Academy ● Four course sequence in the academy ● Computer Science programs in HCPSS ○ Computer Programming Academy at all high schools ○ PLTW Computer Science Academy at MRHS

  10. Project Lead the Way (PLTW) PLTW Engineering Academy ● Five course sequence in the academy including one specialty class ● PLTW engineering programs specialty class in HCPSS ○ Aerospace Engineering specialty course at MRHS (NEW for MRHS) ○ Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) speciality course at all high schools (currently offered) ○ Aerospace Engineering specialty course at ARL (currently offered)

  11. Option 5 - Reassignment (Choice) w/ Transportation Reassignment (Choice) Option - 5 • Students may seek reassignment from CHS and HoHS to Glenelg or Marriotts Ridge with overcrowding as the reason for reassignment. • Students may have access to transportation at hub stops.

  12. Important Note: Transportation Transportation may be available at no cost to families for Options 4 and 5 • For students whose geographic home school is Centennial or Howard, transportation may be provided from regional hub sites to Marriotts Ridge or selected reassignment school • These programs and transportation offerings are contingent upon Board of Education approval

  13. Access to Resources at Schools Students will be immediately eligible to participate in athletics and activities at their new school, should they select option #4 or #5
