Rate Cases In the process of filing or working through rate cases for each of our six utilities. For Peoples Gas, we are working to get a stable rate recovery for our accelerated main replacement project. – ICC ruling on funding overturned – Now taking a legislative approach to secure funding All while settling last year’s rate case. – Required to file again in 2014 8
Main Replacement Project Peoples Gas Pipeline Facilities – 4,460 miles of distribution and transmission lines – 40% of those lines are cast iron and 27% are plastic – 11 natural gas distribution and transmission gate stations – 509,000 natural gas lateral services 9
Main Replacement Project Challenges – Inside meters • Contacting and scheduling customer visits – Digging and reconstruction in neighborhoods, and in the middle of the City – Coordinating with Chicago’s sewer and water departments 10
