Info to EC Workshop on Coexistence Challenges of LTE Deployment On-going investigations in the ECC regarding coexistence with LTE
Ongoing Investigations, Work Items and available information inside the ECC •WGSE, 2 work items: Creation of two new ECC Reports by mid 2013 to cover adjacent band compatibility between SRD applications and LTE (at band edges 862 MHz, 876 MHz, 915 MHz) •Review of GSM-R situation (WGFM ongoing work item): recent request from UIC to study maximum unwanted emission limits in the GSM-R operating frequencies put forward to the next ECC; WGFM created in September a correspondence group to investigate the problem, i.e. to possibly identify areas not covered in existing study reports; •ECO Report 03 includes the information where LTE is in use over the ECS bands in the CEPT countries (periodically updated information) •Draft CEPT Report 50 -> PMSE in 821-832 MHz and 1785-1805 MHz; capacity impact on PMSE due to MFCN (studies based on LTE) in adjacent bands •WGSE, PT SE21 -> Review the characterisation of the unwanted emissions to achieve a more efficient use of the spectrum in long-term
Software enhancement (selection of)
Software enhancement (selection of) • Choice of hierarchical or alphabetical application term list (‘flat list’) throughout the system (in addition to the ‘layer’ selection option) • ECA applications search for frequency range of ETSI Srdocs and ETSI Draft Srdocs (as was requested by ETSI) • Third party’ documents (proposed by ECC/ECO MoU or LoU partner, uploaded by ECO): • Documentation from ETSI, CRAF, UIC, EBU and ITU Broadcast Web already available; ECO continues to add info from ‘third parties’ • Various layout improvements, incl. menu bar layout and use of icons for some data items
General overview • The ECA (European Common Allocations) table is fully merged into EFIS. The ECA database was switched of in September 2012. • EFIS contains the ECA table, an ITU table and 42 national tables • Macedonia FYROM has recently uploaded frequency allocations and applications • Albania and Georgia have published frequency allocations • Three of the countries in EFIS currently have links to NTFAs on national websites, but are expected to upload data before long • Russia is expected to upload its NTFA data to EFIS some time in the autumn • ECO is in regular contact with Belarus and the Ukraine • Some general EFIS statistics (as of 3 August 2012):
