They are the courses students are already asking for and taking in significant numbers There are many coop opportunities in our catchment area that are related to these majors There is a demand for jobs in these areas both locally and provincially (e.g. huge demand for PSW’s, ECE’s and restaurant/hotel staff in Lanark County) They provide transferable skills to a variety of careers that your generation may find yourself pursuing over your lifetime
To understand the requirements of the SHSM Majors and to plan how to meet them before Graduation/Leaving To learn from each other how to prepare for future careers by participating in the various events
