WHAT IS A UNIFORM CRIME REPORT? The FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting Program was implemented in 1930 by the International Association of Chiefs of Police to ensure uniformity among law enforcement agencies when reporting crimes to the Federal Government. VEHI HICLES CLES REPORTED TED STOLEN EN (TOWED D OR REPOSSE SESS SSED ED) On 11/11/17 victim reported vehicle stolen from the 6500 block of Vicksburg St. In a follow-up investigation, Detective Jason Burns learned the vehicle was repossessed by the finance company and not stolen. On 11/17/17 vehicle reported stolen from Canal & Navarre was actually towed from 1500 Bienville St. The victim provided an incorrect incident location. Detective Jason Burns learned the vehicles was towed for being improperly parked.
06/09 09/2 /2017 FOLLO LOW W UP - HOMICIDE ICIDE INVES VESTIG TIGATION TION (5200 0 BLK CANAL L BLVD) On 06/09/17 around 7:05 a.m., an off duty NOPD officer found the body of an unknown black male lying unresponsive in the grass at 5200 Block of Canal Blvd on private property. Homicide Detectives determined the victim was shot during a home invasion in Mississippi and his body was dumped in Lakeview. The incident occurred in Mississippi.
