  15. Umpire Clinic (What) • General Information / Areas of Focus 2019 • Minor Rule Changes(s) (based on 2019 SPN rule book) • Focus on pitching height – better understanding of 6-12 ft. (players and umpires) • Improve consistency within our team of umpires • Continue to umpire with player safety as a priority

  16. 2019 Rain Out Policy • League Notification • If games are being cancelled by the league or city, notification will be sent before 4:30pm on game day. (Web & Social media) • If you have not received notification teams must show up to the diamond and the umpire will determine if the field is safe for play. • Failure to show up at the diamond will result in a default if the umpire declares the field safe to play . • If the umpire determines that the field is unsafe for play, the game will be recorded as a rain out regardless of who is at the diamond. • For late games; if the umpire determines at the early game that the field will be unsafe for the remainder of the night, SLOPITCH.com will do our best to notify teams to not come to the diamond. • Makeup Game Policy • All games that are rained out will be rescheduled within the next few days into the next available time slot - based on pre-determined league availability. • All re-scheduled games are considered regular season games with respect to defaults and notifications.

  17. Score Reporting • The winning team is responsible for reporting the score to the League. • In the event of a tie game, both teams should report the score. • In the event of a rained out or rain shortened game, (less than 5 innings played) both teams should report the result. • The game result must be reported within 48 hours. • Failure to do so will result in no points being awarded and getting marked as a permanent cancellation.   18. Rosters A complete Team Roster must be completed online as part of the team registration. Slo-Pitch National (SPN) https://registration.slo-pitch.com Roster changes may be made up until Friday 21 st June . Team rosters of eligible players will published by July 21 st to the website.

  19. Spares (Regular Season only) Spares are defined as players of other SLOPITCH.com league teams that are not on the current team’s roster. Any team can use a maximum of 2 spares in so much that the total number of players for that game does not exceed 10 • In Coed you can use a maximum of one male and one female spare Note : If a spare is used in a game and a roster player shows and brings the total number of players above 10, the spare will be allowed to finish the game but cannot play the second game if applicable. No Spares allowed for the Play-offs

  20. Alcohol Policy “No” Alcohol Policy Under no circumstances should alcohol of any type be near a teams bench or consumed by the players during the allotted game time. When a game begins, the Umpire will inform Coaches and Captains at the home plate conference that if someone is found drinking alcohol that player and the coach are ejected for the night. If the ejections brings the team below 10 players, that game is over and the opposing team is awarded a 7-0 win. Note: This ejection holds the same penalty as all ejections. The person ejected will receive a suspension of an additional night.

  21. Safety Equipment • Both SPN & SPO are highly recommending the use of helmets for both Pitchers and batters. • Not Mandatory for 2019 • ONSPL & OCSPL & FBL also recommend the use of helmets at least for pitchers in 2019

  22. League Fees • Mens Divisions • 1 hour 15 min / game • 28 games (Double headers) • $2319.00 + HST • Coed Division • 1 hour 30 min / game • 24 Game Season (Double headers) • $2319.00 + HST • 14 Game Season (one game / week) • $1593.00 + HST

  23. Early Bird Discount If League fees are paid in full on or before March 17 th , save the HST (13%) You only pay: • Mens Division $2,319 total • Coed 24 game season $2,319 total • Coed 14 game season $1,593 total

  24. Payment Timelines • Payment in full due by March 27 th • Cash, Email transfer or Money Order Only • After March 27 th - Add $100 late payment fee • After April 10 th – Add $100 late payment fee • After April 17 th – Removal from League
