Exam Timetable & Arrangements • w/b Monday 16.12.19 Overall prelim timetable issued It was YOUR responsibility to check YOUR examination timetable • Maximum 2 Subjects in one day. • Check for coincidence exams. You should have by now seen Mr Wright to detail any coincidence exams or potential exam clashes, or any other general enquiries - Do it today! • w/b Monday 6.1.20 Individual prelim timetable issued It is YOUR responsibility to check YOUR examination timetable • Check that all your subjects appear. • Add any assessments that do not appear. e.g. PE performance, Practical Cookery, music performance etc. These should have been detailed to you by your teachers. • Check any additional assessment arrangements. See Mr Wright immediately if there are any problems.

  4. General Expectations during Prelims • Following feedback from pupils in previous years exam leave has been granted to all S4-S6 pupils during the 2 week prelim diet. • Use this effectively! Plan revision & prep appropriately around your exam days/ times. • On a day when you do not have an exam you must sign in at the school office. You should not attend school to socialise. You are welcome in the building to study in designated areas. • School uniform should be worn at all times when at school. • Remember to access the library you must book in at least the day before you plan to use it - Same advice for accessing faculties/ teaching staff – do not just turn up at doors. • A reminder that the S1-S3 Curriculum is on going, respect that. • Check and know exact times and locations in advance - “Daily Information Board” • Be aware of additional assessment arrangements. • Plan your lunch/snacks around your exam times. Many exams are over the ‘normal’ school break and lunch times. • If you are ill or unable to come into school - contact the school office as early as possible. • School Closure (e.g. due to weather); exams will be re-scheduled.

Exam Day Expectations … • Be outside the exam room 10 minutes in advance. • Be respectful of the invigilators & follow their instructions . • Be aware of rooming & seat numbers. • Be equipped; subject specific equipment. • Bags and jackets - placed carefully in locations highlighted by the invigilators • No phones or electronic/ smart devices • Only water in exam rooms (clear bottles) – placed on the floor • Clear pencil cases only • Use only black or blue biro pen – no gel pens • Behave in a manner that allows you and your peers the opportunity to succeed. • Toilets – go before the start. • You must remain silent in the examination room until the end of the exam.

  7. Study Tips … • Small, short chunks of time; 30-45 mins. • Specific study times in a routine. • Create flash cards. • Create realistic focus goals • Teach others! • Practice, practice, practice. • Designated study space. • Avoid music. • Put your mobile phone away!
