National Innovation Foundation - India What is IGNITE Competition? A technological idea and innovation contest for school students (upto class 12) or drop outs in the same age group . Why the IGNITE contest? To promote originality, creativity and innovative spirit among our children so that when they become leaders of our society, they ensure an imaginative, inclusive and an innovative future for the country. We want our children to be more sensitive to the problems faced by not just them and their families or neighbors but also other socially disadvantaged sections of the society.

It is supported by HBN, CBSE, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, and other state boards. When are the awards announced? Every year the names of the winners are announced on October 15 th , which is the birthday of Former President of India and Children’s favorite, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, celebrated as Children's Creativity and Innovation Day by NIF.
