Title I Pro g ram D istrict, School, & Parents Working Together for Student Success * Title I Schools receive extra fundin g throu g h the federal g overnment. * The Purpose of Title I is: - To ensure children have fair, equal, and si g nificant opportunity to obtain hi g h – quality education; and - Reach, at a minimum, a Level 3 on FC A T (Readin g , Writin g , Math and Science).

How do students receive help? * Throu g h small- g roup instruction durin g the school day within the classroom or in a separate room. * Before or after the school day * Summer pro g ram Who provides the help? * A hi g hly qualified teacher of aid funded by Title I * Teacher or aide will use re g ular classroom material or instructional materials and software selected to help students understand and learn the re g ular readin g , math, and/or science curriculum.

  17. * FC A T=Florida Comprehensive A ssessment Test. * The FC A T 2.0 is a series of tests g iven to every Florida public school student, between the g rades of 3* and 10. * The purpose of the FC A T is to assess student achievement of the Next Generation Sunshine State benchmarks in math, readin g , writin g and science. • Scores: Level 5 indicates that the student masters the most challen g in g content. • Level 4 shows performance above g rade level. • Level 3 indicates satisfactory level of success. • Level 2 shows below satisfactory level of success. • Level 1 indicates inadequate level of success*.

  19. * CELL A =Comprehensive En g lish Lan g ua g e Learnin g A ssessment. * The CELL A is a test for Florida students classified as En g lish Lan g ua g e Learners (ELLs). * The CELL A measures ELLs’ pro g ress in listenin g , speakin g , readin g , and writin g En g lish lan g ua g e skills. * ELLs take the CELL A annually until they are classified as En g lish proficient. The teacher uses this information to decide when the student is ready to exit out of the ESOL pro g ram.
