ORC 5519.05 R/W to be Monumented and Preserved • ORC 5519.05: ODOT must promptly monument the right of way • Definitely and accurately ascertain and monument the roads and highways • All monuments shall be preserved or reset in their EXACT location. • Non performing the setting or resetting of monuments is ILLEGAL John R n R. Memorandum of Understanding of newly acquired highway R/W Established between the Board of Registration for P.E.’s and P.S.’s and ODOT Monuments are to be set or reset based on the right of way plan information.   4. 623.04 Verification Requires coordination and communication between district survey operation manager, project engineer and construction contractors surveyor. Construction contractor surveyor makes reasonable effort to verify the position of all survey monuments shown in R/W plans before construction activities. John R n R.   5. 623.04 Verification Registered Surveyor prepare a verification report with coordinates, station, offset, and a description. The Report is necessary to protect the contractor. Protection and Restoration of Property Any permanent Right-of-Way Monuments or property monuments on or • outside the Right-of-Way limits and not enclosed within a temporary easement for the project will be the Contractor’s responsibility to protect. Upon completion of the final grading replace any Right-of-Way • Monuments destroyed during or by construction activities. A quantity for replacement of Right-of-Way Monuments expected to be • destroyed that are within a temporary easement will be paid under Item 623. John R n R.   7. 623.05 Placement, Protection and Restoration of Monuments Position primary project control monuments according to the departments Survey and Mapping Spec. During construction the Contractor will construct all Monuments per item 623.03. Reference the latest revision of the Standard Construction Drawing RM-1.1 John R n R.   8. 623.05 Placement, Protection and Restoration of Monuments All R/W Monuments, Monument Assemblies and Reference Monuments are to be set under the direct supervision of a Professional Surveyor licensed in the State of Ohio.
