  2. Welcom e . Who are we? We are a grass roots non profit, local organization that m ission is to im prove the water quality in Moriches Bay, through oyster farm ing and eel grass planting, in addition we feel that bringing awareness to the com m unity and educating our children is an im portant part of this process . Why do we do this? We believe that we ALL live work or play on this bay so we all have a responsibility to care for it by helping to bring it back to its natural health! We do this because oyster farming is a good method for helping to clean the bay.. We do not sell our oysters and our objective is to clean the bay. How do we do this? We use a science based process of growing oysters and eel grass beds that filter dirty water to make it clean again .

  3. Our Unique Strategy • Environm ent: We use a science based process to reestablish the bay to its healthy water quality: Oyster farm ing and Eel grass planting. Education: We feel it our responsibility to educate our children they are • the future. We hold “hands on dem onstrations” teaching while having fun. Awareness: What stands us apart from other organizations that do • what we do is the awareness we are bringing to the com m unity. The m ore people that are m ade aware the m ore people that can be a part of the solution.

  4. Does oyster farm ing help to clean the bay? ABSOLUTELY!!!!!! • 1 oyster can filter 50 gallon of water a day! • Oysters act as filtering agents • They eat the algae in the water • The MBP has put roughly 100,000 oysters in the bay with the help of our community. That’s 5,000,000 gallons of water filter every day…. That is a lot of water filtered!

  5. A Difference we can clearly see.
