How will the houses be divided among our staffulty and the students? ● Each house will consist of two Staff House leaders. These are your House Committee members. ● Staffulty will be divided through the sorting ceremony and each house will have 8-10 staffulty to support the houses. ● We will discuss student sorting as we approach the time schedule. The NRMS Essential 10, as voted on by you! 1. Respond to adults with “Yes ma’am”, “No ma’am” or “Yes sir”, “No sir”. 2. Make eye contact when someone is speaking. 3. No matter the circumstances, always be honest. 4. Respect other students’ comments, opinions, and ideas. 5. You must complete your homework and classwork every day. 6. When a visitor is present, all class rules still apply. 7. Be responsible for your trash in any area before you leave. 8. Learn from your mistakes and move on. 9. Be the best person you can be. 10. Be positive and enjoy life.

How to award House Points? o Students who follow and show the Essential 10 o Students who show growth in the academic setting or achieve their learning goals o Students who show a passion or spirit for their house and participate in events o Students who have a positive attitude o Only 1 point at a time o No cap on how many points one student can earn o Each teacher needs to give a reasonable amount of points each week. o Every adult in the building can give points o Having a classroom plan to show points is important to raise excitement about the process o Teachers who CONSISTENTLY give out a lot of points will be REWARDED o Teachers who do NOT consistently give out a lot of point will NOT be reprimanded
Who keeps track of the points? The point masters (Tyler Chambers and Kimberly Barbe) will O create a way for us to turn in points o Teachers will turn in points by the end of the day Thursday or they may enter points throughout the week There will be a google spreadsheet for you to add your points at the end of each week. o Winners are declared on Friday
Displaying House Points and Determining the winners o Points will be displayed in the cafeteria. Student Council will update those each week. o There will be a six weeks winner each six weeks. There will also be an overall winner at the end of the year. Prizes to be determined by the committee and made clear to everyone in due course.
