Past Mission Statement Frogtown Crew Mission Statement: To awaken and educate the minds of Frogtown through arts and outreach on sustainable transportation while staying rooted in the community.
Our 2015 Summer Goals Unity Bike Rides Mural 6 Unity Bike Rides ● ● More active youth in the community 2 night rides ○ in a positive way 2 rides a month ○ ● More beauty in the neighborhood Music, Snacks, and Water ● ● Breaking negative stereotypes 75-100 summer bike riders ●
Why do we do this... It’s our neighborhood! ● More than 40% of residents live below the poverty line ● 35% of residents are under the age of 18, most cannot drive. ● Fewer acres of green space than any other neighborhood in the city = no ● place to play No bike infrastructure (bike lanes, roundabouts, speed bumps, bike racks) ● FIRST BIKE AVENUE IN OUR COMMUNITY: Charles Ave ○ To make a difference. ●
The Planning We had mentors and leaders help us ● Picking and reaching out to artists ● Safety regulations / trainings ● Thought process ● ● Collaborating with partners ● Promoting event ● Networking ● Design Process

Successes Everyone had fun!!! ● Personal achievements! ● Rides went off without a hitch ● Gained new skills ● We had 5 Unity bike rides ● 1 night ride ○
Our Summer Out Come Everyone enjoyed the rides ● The community saw us riding. ● 2 story mural in Frogtown ● Got 25 new people to bike with us. ● Got the community to come together to beautify the ● neighborhood.
Where we are now! 4 youth from Frogtown Crew → now working as Smart Trips interns ● Continuing the work of the Frogtown Crew with a different approach ●
Our Mission Statement We are youth of color coming together to engage the community and other youth on sustainable transportation, social justice, and environmental justice. Our goal is to increase the level of youth engaged in the community and on community matters. While also creating and empowering new youth leaders in all communities.
