  3. NEW HORIZONS VILLAGE (NHV) - Carol A. Fitzgerald, Executive Director About NHV: • Not for Profit Corporation – 501(c)(3) • A community that 101 individuals with physical disabilities call home • Set on 25 beautiful acres, New Horizons, Inc. purchased in 1964 • 68 total apartments, New Horizons Village opened in 1986 Why New Construction? • NHV tenants currently must occupy a double unit when moving in • NHV tenants currently must wait @ 19 years to move to a single unit • New Horizons has committed to constructing new single units in order to allow for the needs of its residents. Construction Plan – History: • Original Proposed New Construction • Meeting with Neighbors – April 9, 2018 • Sent invitations to neighbors located on Oak Ridge to walk the proposed site and discuss concerns with architect and team • Submitted revised proposal changing site of New Construction – 5/31/18 • Committed to the safety and accessibility to our campus for all residents • Timing of application, and acceptance thereof, is critical to obtaining financing for the project specifically for Grant submissions
