section 2 what is headspace?
headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds.

what does headspace support?
Four Core support services • Mental Health • Physical Health • Work and Study support • Alcohol and other Drugs Mental Health & Wellbeing 10
headspace Early Psychosis Team • Continuing Care Team, Functional Recovery Team, Mobile Treatment and Assessment Team • Focus is on early intervention and supports young people experiencing a first episode of psychosis or at ultra-high risk of experiencing psychosis

what is mental health? “Mental health is a state of wellbeing in which the individual realises his\her\they own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his\her\ they community.”
Where does community development come in? What is community development? "the process of working collaboratively with and through groups of people affiliated by geographic proximity, special interest, or similar situations to address issues affecting the well- being of those people“ (USDHHS, 2011) Why is community development needed in the community? How do we decide our plan of action? headspace has an overarching ‘no wrong door policy’ What about at a local level? Who do we target? And why?

How can you create change? First, what does change look like to you? Where does change need to start? Is it with your peers, with adults, within the community? Think about what you have the ability to control. Small goals need to be set along the way of achieving a bigger goal.
