Purpose : • To support through additional costs the recruited or seconded researchers/staff members with disabilities whose long-term physical, mental, intellectual or sensory impairments are such that their participation in MSCA would not be possible without extra financial support. Total 2019 budget (2 deadlines): € 1 million
How does it work : • Eligible MSC actions: ITN, IF, RISE and COFUND . • The Proposal can be submitted only by the MSCA beneficiary . • One proposal per recruited researcher / seconded staff member with special needs / disabilities. • If there is more than 1 researcher with special needs in the same beneficiary – a separate proposal for each researcher has to be submitted.
Eligible applicants : • MSCA beneficiaries. • The applicant must comply with the following cumulative criteria: At the time of the SNLS deadline, it must be a beneficiary in an ongoing H2020 MSCA grant , or its proposal must be in the Grant Agreement Preparation stage (GAP) for a future MSCA grant agreement. It has recruited/seconded (or for a proposal in GAP, will recruit/second) the researcher(s)/staff member(s) with disabilities in the framework of an MSCA action.
Eligible researchers: • To be eligible for the SNLS, the researcher must comply with the following cumulative criteria : He/she is eligible under the main MSCA grant (ITN, IF, RISE or COFUND). His/her disability is such that his/her participation would not be possible without an extra financial support. His/her disability is officially recognised by the relevant national legislation. .
Proposal duration: • The duration of the SNLS is limited to the duration of the main linked MSCA. • It can be shorter but cannot be longer than the main MSCA grant. • If necessary, the duration of the SNLS will be adjusted by the Project Officer during the Grant Agreement Preparation phase.
Financial support: • Max 60 000 EUR per researcher with special needs. • The budget will be subjected to evaluation by the expert evaluators. • In the case the amount needed to cover the special needs is higher than EUR 60 000 , the remainder shall be covered from other sources. The applicants should provide details of the additional funding in the Part B.

Structure of the proposal: Part A • General information about the proposal (title, abstract, etc.) • Administrative data of the beneficiary • Budget (only the total amount requested is to be inserted in Part A) • Call specific questions
Structure of the proposal: Part B – max 3 pages: 1. EXCELLENCE Description of the type of special needs of the researcher • Appropriateness, relevance and necessity of the items/services requested by • the applicant 2. IMPACT • How the requested items/services will facilitate the work of the researcher. • Information of the duration of the support 3. QUALITY AND EFFICIENCY OF THE IMPLEMENTATION • Explain the details of the requested items/services • Estimated breakdown of the requested budget Consent form (not counted towards the page limit)
Proposal acronym: • The SNLS grant will be linked to the main running MSCA, therefore acronym of the SNLS proposal must be the same as the acronym of the main MSCA grant. • In case more researchers with disabilities are from the same linked MSCA grant , all SNLS proposals must have the same acronym. NB: The proposal number will be different as it is given automatically by the IT system, therefore it is important to introduce the same acronym.
