WHO ARE WE?
WaterWipes Story
WHAT ARE WATERWIPES?
The World’s Purest Baby Wipe
Safe & Sterile Wipes Chemical Preservative Free Alcohol Free Fragrance/Perfume Free
HOW DO WE DO THIS?
Unique & Specialised Technology Unique and patented technology – altering the molecular structure of normal water Cleanroom conditions - comparable to that used in the pharmaceutical industry Safe and effective baby wipe without the addition of chemical preservatives.
WHY DO THIS?
New-Born Skin Health The body’s largest organ Multiple functions, particularly for neonates Protection barrier The outermost layer, stratum corneum, first line of defence
Acid Mantle Highly important for infection control pH neutral at the time of birth and decreases to a slightly acidic pH over the first few days post-natal. Alkaline products, commonly found in conventional baby cleansing products, can increase the pH of the acid mantle, therefore disturbing the skin’s important natural barrier
Early Protection Choosing products for use on new-born and infant skin: pH neutral (pH 5.5 – 7) Mild preservative Fragrance-free Alcohol-free Fragrances and preservatives are the most frequent allergens in cosmetics
Baby skin needs special care Their skin is thinner There is a high ratio between skin surface area & body weight The skin is covered by a sort of down that increases the absorbent surface
Up to 50% of babies will suffer from nappy rash at least once *Aherton D. Mills K. What can be done to keep babies skin healthy? RCM Midwives 2004; 7 : 288 – 290.
