IADC Supply Chain Committee Mission and Structure Mission Statement The purpose of the IADC Supply Chain Committee is to facilitate the exchange of ideas, knowledge sharing, and interaction amongst drilling contractors, suppliers, and other IADC groups with the aim of implementing best practices for the betterment of the drilling industry. Subcommittees • Supplier Performance Subcommittee • Logistics and Trade Compliance Subcommittee • Manufacturing Record Book Subcommittee • Inventory Subcommittee Chairman - Jorge Lebrija (Ensco) Vice Chairman - Abhishek Vyas (Nabors)
IADC Supply Chain Committee Timeline The IADC SC Committee was established in 2013 SC Committee Established Open for Non-Drillers Drillers-Only 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 Supplier Performance Subcommittee MRB Subcommittee Logistics and Trade Compliance Subcommittee Inventory Subcommittee • The committee meets quarterly and subcommittees meet more frequently depending on the project • Committee was originally established for drillers only participation, however non-drillers have been invited to participate in some of the subcommittees • Committee will be officially open for non-drillers participation starting January 2018 (announcement to be made during annual meeting in November) • Majority participation is from offshore drillers, however recently land drillers have started to participate more actively
IADC Supply Chain Committee Major Accomplishments Supplier Performance Subcommittee Chairman - Jean Paul Buisine (Transocean) Vice Chairman - Stephen Elliott (Patterson UTI) • (2015) Published IADC supplier performance metrics and guidelines • Metrics have been implemented within 90% of participating drillers • Ongoing project to add metrics related to performance and reliability Logistics and Trade Compliance Subcommittee Currently on Hold • (2014) Published the IADC global supply chain and trade compliance guidelines • (2016) Published IADC guidance for rig entry and exit process for USA • (2016) Published IADC import and export guidance for Nigeria All documents are available at the IADC website under the Supply Chain Committee
IADC Supply Chain Committee Major Accomplishments (cont) Manufacturing Record Book Subcommittee Chairman - Brad Green (Ensco) • Drillers, OEMs and Classification societies working together to standardize Manufacturing Record Books across the industry • (2017) Published IADC Manufacturing Record Book Guidance version 1 • Currently working to expand content of version 1 ( Version 2 target release Jan-2018) Inventory Subcommittee Chairman - Andy Rennie (Transocean) • Working to identify materials management best practices sharing opportunities such as: − Preservation of stored equipment − Management of Rubber goods − Excess inventory sharing program − Digital tagging of equipment
IADC Supply Chain Committee Next Steps Houston IADC Supply Chain Committee short term goals: • Continue working on current projects under each subcommittee • Enhance participation from land drillers and service providers • Establish a IADC Supply Chain Committee Chapter in Dubai and other locations • Explore additional standardization initiatives across the industry such as bar codes, RFID tags, etc • Continue to develop country specific import and export guidelines for equipment, parts, etc.
IADC Supply Chain Committee SAPC Proposal • With IADC SAPC members approval : • Create a supply Chain Committee under IADC SAPC open for all IADC SAPC members to participate • Subcommittees to be created to work on SAPC initiatives • SAPC Supply Chain Committee to have dotted reporting responsibilities to the Houston IADC Supply Chain Committee to coordinate projects • Leo Pomazan to be the chairman for the initial period (Vice chairman and subcommittee chairmen to be selected after committee creations)
