  3. INTRODUCTION In Africa, over 50% of the population is under 25. These young people have great potential. However they also present risks if not led sustainably. How the continent would be if we foresee and prevent youth social challenges?

LYSD - FOUNDERS Hugo Hadet Jean-Luc Agboyibo Co-founder Co-founder Chairman Treasurer Graduated from ESSEC Business School with a Graduated from La Sorbonne University and major in social entrepreneurship in Paris, AMOS Sport Business School in Paris. Hugo is in charge of strategy and business Prior to LYSD, Jean-Luc worked in sport and management for LYSD. Globetrotter, his media at Havas Sports & Entertainment, Africa adaptability is essential to collaborate with Top Sport and Canal+ Afrique. He leads LYSD people from various horizons. management and development on the field.

  6. I. LYSD – OUR VISION At LYSD, we use sport to educate, protect, empower and connect youth since 2012 . EDUCATION We empower kids and teenagers to become Africa’s future leaders. We want to talk about their hopes and give them the means SPORT COHESION EQUALITY to achieve their dreams. We vision basketball as a great tool to bring together boys and girls from different social backgrounds and foster social inclusion and SOCIAL INCLUSION cohesion.

  7. I. LYSD – OUR EXPERTISE To turn this vision into reality, we design inclusive programs and organize sports events for kids and teenagers. Creating synergies with local authorities , building or upgrading facilities and training trainers are our first steps to set up environments full of opportunities for youth.

  9. I. LYSD – BUILDING & UPGRADING FACILITIES Basketball requires facilities. We collaborate with sponsors, public & private organizations, to build or upgrade hoops & courts since 2014. City of Vogan: Hoop Village of Kouvé: Court Public court of Aneho renovation in 2014 ($100) building in 2015 ($10 000) renovated in 2016 ($2500)

  10. I. LYSD – TRAINING TRAINERS We strongly believe that LYSD trainers are more than basketball coaches for kids. They are the condition of success for our actions and they help us maximize our social impact. Thus, we work with adults and young adults (teachers, students, players … ) involved in their community and sharing our vision. Every year, we bring on sport and social experts to run open trainings for our trainers and other basketball coaches. Improving their skills and empowering them is paramount to us. We provide job opportunities as LYSD trainers to our programs most involved and deserving teenagers.   11. I. LYSD – DESIGNING INCLUSIVE PROGRAMS In Togo, we launched the Miledou « We are together » program in five cities in 2014. Four pillars: Three goals: 1/ Give every child the right to practice a sport for leisure 2/ Create an instructive environment to understand and prevent social issues Raising awareness Practice for all 3/ Build strong relationships with the kids and their local communities Ladies Basket Mini Basket

  12. I. LYSD – ORGANIZING SPORT EVENTS All year long, we gather teenagers during sporting events. We develop a mindset based on respect, humility, merit and integrity. Basket Promotion Christmas for all Festival of Aneho International Women’s Week (BPW) Day (IWD) And many others...

  13. I. LYSD – PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES We discover natural leaders (students, entrepreneurs, athletes … ) on the basketball court. They dream to build their own future. We work with international organizations from various sector to offer new opportunities to kids. NBA Camps in Africa: West African NBA camp in Burkina Faso, Basketball Without Borders (BWB) in South Africa African Leadership Academy (ALA), a school of excellence in South Africa Anzisha Prize, a competition for entrepreneurs between 15 and 22 years old

  14. I. LYSD - ROLE MODELS We support our talents with scholarships and mentoring. They become role models in their community and inspire other kids and teenagers.   15. I. LYSD – AMBASSADORS We do our best to help children with high sport or academic potential to reach the next level. Freddy and Ives are symbol of hard work and perseverance. Ives Galley is from Kpalime, a small city 120km North of Lome, Togo’s capital city. He has been enrolled at ALA in 2012. Through our network, we provided him with a mentor (Boris Adokou – MBA, Cambridge Judge Business School) and we found him an internship at SOGEA SATOM in 2013. After two years at ALA, Ives joined the University of Berkeley, where he is currently finishing his second year in engineering. Freddy Zotchi is one of the most gifted young basketball player we met. In 2014, we helped him discovering the SEED Academy in Senegal (best basketball academy in West Africa). Then we sent him to an NBA camp in Burkina Faso. Few months after, he received a scholarship to pursue his dream at Liberty Christian School in the USA.

  16. I. LYSD – SOCIAL & SPORT DEVELOPMENT IMPACT Sport: our inclusive approach has a positive impact on basketball in the whole country.   17. I. LYSD – ACHIEVEMENTS IN FIGURES 4 courts renovated/built 25 coaches trained by sport & social experts 5000 15 participants from villages and cities 30 scholarships granted 11 players selected for NBA camps in Africa 4 3 students at ALA and in the US

  18. II. DEVELOPMENT - SEASON 2016/2017 Next season will be challenging since we will expand our activities to neighboring Ivory Coast and strengthen various aspects of our existing actions in Togo. New country: Girls empowerment Ivory Coast International event New developments in Togo

  19. II. DEVELOPMENT – IVORY COAST In collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the Drogba Foundation, the Ivoirian Basketball Federation and the City of Yopougon, we will implement a project in Abidjan to contribute to displaced people social inclusion. Our know-how has been valued to gather displaced people in a same place, a basketball court, and work on their social inclusion through sport. The pilot of the project is already designed and financed by Cities Alliance, and will be launched soon.

  20. II. DEVELOPMENT – TOGO To increase the number of children we reach and provide better opportunities to our participants, we have four main goals for the following season: • Opening branches in four new cities (Atakpame, Kara, Sokode and Tsevie) • Developing an educational curriculum adapted to Togo and its issues • Increasing the number of trainers and the quality of their training • Drawing and realizing a social impact study of our actions

  21. II. DEVELOPMENT - GIRLS EMPOWERMENT Girls currently represent 35 % of our participants. Our objective is to reach equality ( 50/50 ). 4 girls will join our trainers team in 4 different areas. On International Women’s Day, we will organize events in all our cities to raise awareness. Finally, we aim to send more girls to the African Leadership Academy next year .

  22. II. DEVELOPMENT - INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT In December 2015, we organized two international U18 games between Togo and Benin in Lomé, Togo. This year, our ambition is to organize a tournament with 8 countries including Togo, Benin and Senegal. Having the opportunity to play for their country is a huge source of motivation and pride for our young players. SEED Academy - Senegal LYSD - Togo EBD - Benin
