Additionally, they provide a myriad of supports to student living. • Many programs to engage with community • Brock Cares Day of Service • Volunteer Fest • Alternative Reading Week service trips (e.g. South Carolina) • Off-Campus Living support (e.g. Brock SOCS) • BrockU Talks

Foundations in Leadership is a tiered Leadership Development Program • Bronze: ‘Foundations in Interpersonal Communication’ • verbal and non-verbal communication skills: emotional intelligence, constructive feedback. • Silver: ‘Foundations in Problem Solving and Conflict Management’. • critical thinking, problem-solving strategies, effective conflict management tactics • Gold: ‘Foundations in Group Work’ • how to interpret, support, and manage group dynamics • Platinum: ‘Foundations in Leadership Style’ • reflecting on different leadership styles and discover one's own & how to collaborate with other styles

  4. Why take Foundations? • Practical, transferable skills • Applicable to a wide variety of leadership situations • Increases confidence and ability to minimize conflict • Sets you apart in the job application process • Opportunity to meet new people

  5. What a class looks like • 10 hours in-class • 2 x 5hr Saturday class or • 2 x 5hr Saturday/Sunday back-to-back • Around 6-20 participants • Practice activities • Reflection assignments • Personal application – no written homework • $50 per course • Obtain a certificate and pin
