Laxmi is filled with concerns about being forced to work in the fields, engage in household work and baby sit her younger siblings. This would take away her dreams of becoming a teacher.
Laxmi’s major concern is the lack of a High school in her village. Which is the obstacle in fulfilling her dream of being a teacher. The only school in her vicinity, is a private school which is 4 kms away from her village..
The gates of the private school are closed for Laxmi, as her family cannot afford the expenses of a private school.
When given a chance, Laxmi loves to live her dreams by enacting the role of a teacher.
CRY America supported project Mahila Abivruddhi Mattu Samrakshane Samshte (MASS) has been working to demand for a high school in Jaganur village, which will be sanctioned shortly. A high school in the village will ensure that children from Jaganur can continue to study, so that more girls like Laxmi can pursue their dreams.
