  3. Project Overview � Develop a test stand for the Lap-Band device that can: � Measure force/pressure applied to stomach. � Measure/control amount of saline solution in device. � Collect data

  4. Key Challenges � Identifying a material to mimic the physical properties of the upper stomach. � Measuring the force/pressure applied to stomach by Lap-Band Device. � Finding a way to accurately meter amount of saline solution in Lap-Band Device. � Integrate components into test stand and obtain test data correlating saline volume to force/pressure on stomach.
