A bit about SPSSEG: • A small office with 7 people • A very diverse workload that was always changing throughout the year • Our mission is: To protect and restore salmon populations and aquatic habitat with an emphasis on ecosystem function through scientifically informed projects, community education, and volunteer involvement.
October • Cleared a fish ladder at Percival Creek • Helped Mason Conservation District Crew build a new viewing platform at Kennedy Creek
November • Was a docent at the Kennedy Creek Salmon Trail • Attended a North West Indian Fisheries Commission meeting and went on a tour of the Nisqually Wildlife Refuge
December • Did a planting at Goldsborough Creek with Mason Conservation District’s Crew • Began water monitoring at Clover Creek in Parkland Prairie

February • Site visit to the Beach Crest Project where a road was removed and an estuary was restored • Taught the salmon lifecycle to Mrs. Knight-Palmer’s 3 rd Grade Class at Beach Crest
