  2. Judith Clurman is an Emmy-nominated and Grammy-nominated conductor, educator, and Artistic Director Artistic Director choral specialist. Her knowledge and love of diverse musical genres and her passion for excellence has enabled her to build bridges across an array of musical styles and forge relationships with esteemed professionals worldwide. As a conductor and collaborator, she has worked with the Boston Symphony, New York Philharmonic, New York City Ballet, Mostly Mozart Festival, Lincoln Center’s Great Performers series, Jazz at Lincoln Center, the New York Pops, the American Songbook and other renowned organizations. Students and professionals alike cherish Judith as an educator, mentor, and collaborator. She served as Director of Choral Activities at the Juilliard School from 1989 – 2007; Co-Director for Harvard University’s Leonard Bernstein: Boston to Broadway Festival; faculty member/vocal specialist for the National Endowment for the Arts/Columbia University Institute of Classical Music; and Visiting Artist/Conductor at Cambridge University, the Curtis Institute, the Zimriya (Israel), and the Janacek Academy (Czech Republic). While Clurman’s work has taken her to many prestigious performance spaces, perhaps her most familiar residence was on television’s beloved Sesame Street. Her collaboration with the Muppets as Associate Music Director earned a 2009 Emmy nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction and Composition. The Recording Academy recognized the recording of Tania León’s “ Inura ” on which Clurman conducted the Son Sonora Voices with a 2013 Grammy nomination for Contemporary Classical Composition. NPR featured her acclaimed CD “Celebrating the American Spirit” on Inauguration Day 2013. “Working with Judith Clurman is always a delight.   7. Salzburg / Hellbrunn Salzburg / Hellbrunn Day Four • Breakfast at the hotel • Enjoy a half-day guided Sound of Music tour. • First we will visit Nonnberg Abbey. The Benedictine Convent is where the nuns resided and sang Maria Sing “Maria” at Nonnberg Abbey • • Continue to Hellbrunn to see the famous Gazebo where Liesl sang I am 16 going on 17 Sing “Sixteen Going on Seventeen” at the Gazebo • • Then drive by (possible photo stop) Schloß Leopoldskron. The castle served as one of the Von Trapp family homes • Then we are off to Mirabell Gardens for a visit. The gardens were where the Von Trapp children and Maria sang Do Re Mi. The gardens offer a wonderful view of the Hohensalzburg fortress Sing “Do -Re-Mi ” at Mirabell Gardens • • Lunch on own • Afternoon massed Rehearsal • Dinner at the hotel • Evening massed rehearsal

  9. Day Five Salzburg • Breakfast at the hotel Salzburg • Morning excursion to Mondsee to visit St. Michael’s Church, site of Maria’s and Captain Von Trapp’s wedding. Mondsee is a quaint village that is nice to stroll around • Enjoy an Organ Recital at St. Michael’s Church • Also visit Feisenreitschule, the backdrop for the Von Trapp’s parting song before their planned escape from Austria. It is here that the Baron sang Edelweiß • Sing “Edelweiss” at Felsenreitschule • Lunch on own • Balance of the day at leisure • Evening dinner at the hotel The Sound of Music Festival Rodgers and • Hammerstein Finale Concert at the Mozarteum Day Six • Breakfast at the hotel • Transfer to Munich’s airport for return flight
