JESUS – THE SEED OF ABRAHAM, THE SON OF GOD, THE SHOOT OF JESSIE
THE SEED OF ABRAHAM • Genesis 22:18 • Galatians 3:16 • God wants to use the descendants of Abraham to bless the world .
• Gen 22:18 (NASB) • “ And in your seed all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice. ” • Galatians 3:16 • The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. Scripture does not say “and to seeds,” meaning many people, but “and to your seed,” meaning one person, who is Christ. •
THE SON OF DAVID • Isaiah 9:6-7 • God wants Jesus to rule in our lives as our King
Isa 9:6 -7 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.
• 2Sam 15:21 • But Ittai replied to the king, “As surely as the LORD lives, and as my lord the king lives, wherever my lord the king may be, whether it means life or death, there will your servant be.”
THE SHOOT OF JESSIE Isaiah 11:1 A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit .

Jesus = God saves • Matthew 1: 21 • “ you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins. ”
• Christ ( = the anointed one) • Isa 11:2 The Spirit of the LORD will rest on him — the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the LORD —
