Almost 90% of the next billion entrants into the global middle class will be in Asia: 380 million Indians, 350 million Chinese, and 210 million other Asians. 02

  5. China and Poland • In 2009 the value of Polish food exports to China stood at EUR18 million. Last year this figure rose to EUR170 million, accounting for 10% of total Polish exports to China • In 2015, Poland exported over US$43 million worth of poultry products to China. The country turned into the world's largest pork importer in 2016, bypassing Japan, and will be second only to the US regarding beef imports • EU pork exports to China increased by 93% from Q1 2015 to Q1 2016 • In April 2017, fruit imports to China had amounted to approximately US$523.7 million • China imported 6.19 million litres of spirits worth US$110 million in November 2016, representing a 41.8% increase in volume and a 77.9% increase in value compared with November 2015 • The premium imported beer market will grow by value to over US$ 610 million in 2020 recording 148% growth from current figures • From 2014 to 2019, Chinese coffee consumption rose18% annually, as compared to the 0.9% in the US • 40% increase in dairy imports in Q1 of 2016 06

Singapore imports • Currently 80% of beef in Singapore is imported from Australia, New Zealand and Argentina – showing Singaporeans will choose quality of product over price • Nearly 380,000 tonnes of meat were imported to Singapore in 2016 • Singapore is a free port. Hence, fresh fruits and vegetables imports into Singapore are considered duty free • The major suppliers of fresh temperate climatic fruit to Singapore are the United States, Australia, New Zealand, European Union, China, South Africa, Argentina and Chile • Wine is predicted to record a 5% total volume Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) over the forecast period, generating 15 million liters (3.9 million gallons) in sales in 2020 • 80% of alcohol imported to Singapore is beer, and annual growth of imports is around 4% In 2015, Singapore imported an estimated 300,000 tonnes of dairy products, making it one of the worlds leading • importers • Imports of Coffee, Tea, Cocoa, Spices averaged US$92.29 million from 2014 until 2017 011

Poland and Malaysia • Poland aims to double its export trade to Malaysia to US$380 million (RM1.38 billion) in the next two years, which will primarily be driven by its cosmetic and food products • Bilateral trade between Malaysia and Poland stood at US$1.19 billion last year, while exports to and imports from Malaysia amounted to US$190 million and US$1 billion respectively • Polish dairy company, Bakoma is currently looking at exporting into Poland Why Malaysia? 014

  15. Malaysia imports • Malaysia currently produce 52,000 tonnes of beef worth RM169 million and import beef worth RM1.14 billion annually to meet local demand of about 191,000 tonnes. Main imports are from India, Australia and New Zealand • Beef demand is forecast to increase by 98% between 2014 and 2030 • Malaysia has a very high per capita consumption of fish and seafood, approximately 50kg per year since 2005 and this is forecast to continue to grow to 55kg per capita in 2020 • Malaysia does not produce any temperate climate fruits, and is fully dependent on imports - an import value of approximately $174 million. • Malaysia tends to import temperate vegetables only, with import value US$401.7 million. • Malaysia is not a wine producing country and is import-dependent. The Malaysian wine market value is estimated at US$76.63 million, • Beer import growth has continued at around 5% a year for the last 5 years, showing the market is steadily growing • In general, the Malaysian dairy market has been growing at around 7% a year • Malaysia is experiencing the ‘café culture’ movement and seeing more and more coffee shops offering ranges of coffee products • Growth of coffee imports increased 7% in 2015 015
