WHAT IS SEALANTS
WHY SEALANTS
Terminology – The Basics BASE (Part – A) (High quality Polysulphide sealant) + Accelerator (Part – B) (Curing agent) ↓ IWL LIQUISEAL POLYSULPHIDE SEALANT (Flexible rubber like material)
Terminology – The Basics Excellent adhesion ↓ Concrete, masonry, wood, glass, aluminum etc..,with the use of LIQUISEAL PS Primer. Capable of withstanding repeated extension, compression & Cyclic movements without loss of adhesion Resists deterioration by weathering, sunlight, ozone, water, salt, oils and fuels .
Mixing Process
Joint design joint - width: depth ratio 2:1 Total movement does not exceed the 25% MAF Wide 5 to 50 mm Depth - 5 mm for glass & metal - 10 mm for porous surface - 20 mm for joints exposed to traffic and hydrostatic pressures Use backup material to adjust width depth ratio Masking tape on both side – uniform appearance
IWL - PRODUCTS 1.Liquiseal PS PRIMER – Adhesion promoters 2.LIQUISEAL PS PG - POURING GRADE ( Self leveling) 3.LIQUISEAL PS GG - GUN GRADE ( Non sag)
Liquiseal PS Primers • Adhesion promoters • Low viscous liquid • Solvent with silane combination
Typical Properties Viscosity (ford cup) : 10 – 12 seconds Specific gravity : 0.7 5 – 0.85 Recommended coats : 02 Time interval : 15 minutes (minimum) Coverage : 6 – 7 sq.meter /1 liter
LIQUISEAL PS PG – BS 5212 • Two part system : (Part A &Part B) • Ratio 92:08 (by weight) • Color Part A - off white Part B – brown • Sp gravity 1.65 ± 0.02 • Pot life : 60 to 120 minutes (adjustable) • Pourable sealants are low viscous • Self leveling • Mainly used for horizontal joint
Typical Properties Tensile strength Kg/cm² : minimum 03. Elongation % : minimum 600. Shore A – Hardness : 08 – 14 Bonding with………… 1.Concrete to Concrete 2.Glass to Glass 3.Aluminium to Aluminium …Etc

Vertical Applications
Coverage Calculate the sealant weight (in kgs) for a joint of particular length (in meters), The following formula can be used. Weight in kg = SG × W × D × L 1000 SG = Specific gravity of the sealant W = Width of joint (mm) D = Depth of joint (mm) L = Length of the joint (metre)
