INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE
WHAT IS IT? The IB program is for Juniors and Seniors and aims to develop students who flourish physically, intellectually, emotionally and ethically. What the IB offers students-- Through the Diploma Program, we are able to develop students who: have excellent breadth and depth of knowledge • study at least two languages • excel in traditional academic subjects • explore the nature of knowledge through the program’s unique theory • of knowledge course.
THE CURRICULUM Studies in language • and literature Language • acquisition Individuals and • societies Sciences • Mathematics • The Arts and • electives
THE CORE Theory of knowledge, in which students reflect on the • nature of knowledge and on how we know what we claim to know. The extended essay, which is an independent, self- • directed piece of research, finishing with a 4,000-word paper. Creativity, activity, service, in which students • complete a project related to those three concepts.

THE IB IS AN ACADEMICALLY CHALLENGING AND BALANCED PROGRAM OF EDUCATION. Many of the classes are taught in conjunction with AP classes. It is good to know early if you might be interested in pursuing an IB Diploma so that we can make sure you are on the right track for success.
