WG9 – Scope of WG9 activities: Augmented – Identify the Architectural Elements of Reality Augmented Reality Continuum Reference Continuum Model – Study the relationships between Augmented Reality Continuum Reference Model elements and define appropriate interfaces between them – Develop a general purpose reference model that shows the Reality Continuum Reference Model elements along with their inter- relationships – Study and identify one or more abstract levels that can support platform independence over a wide variety of platforms types – Identify available standards that support one or more of the Reality Continuum Reference Model elements
JTC1 is the Joint Technical Committee of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) – both of which Standards Australia is a member and is charged with developing standards to promote integration and innovation in ICT. Standards Australia JTC1 Strategic Advisory Committee was formed to assist Australia to focus on priority areas. These are: – e-health – cloud computing – smart grids – sensor networks and smart infrastructure – green ICT – Accessibility – e-waste – augmented reality and virtualization
Standards Australia IT-031 Committee mirrors ISO/IEC JTC1 SC24 – Does Australia need at participate in standards development in Augmented Reality? – Benefits in participation WG9 Convener is Gerard (Gerry) J. Kim (Korea) – gjkim@korea.ac.kr Next Meeting August 2012 during the SC24 Plenary Meeting.
