What we do  We aim to promote safety and reduce accidents through independent conformity assessment.  We represent the common interests of our sector , as well as those of our members, to the EU institutions and to all European or international organisations and associations dealing with directives, regulations, standards and accreditation.  We keep our members informed of significant matters (with respect to the above), and establish CEOC International positions for them to follow. 6

The priority areas of focus for 2016 are:  The Product Safety and Market Surveillance Package  The Medical Devices and in vitro diagnostic medical devices directives  The Single Market Strategy  The Transatlantic and Investment Partnership (TTIP) including the follow-up to the new trade and investment strategy for the European Union ‘Trade for All’  Digital compliance (former eCompliance) 11
