Geotextile Type 2B in accordance with 918.02(c) shall be placed above and below the layer of No. 5 or No. 8 coarse aggregate. ID 12 in. coarse aggregate with Type 2B geotextile in accordance with 918.02(c) In areas where shallow utilities are encountered or chemical modification is not allowed, the Contractor may submit a request to the Engineer to substitute Type IC for II 6 in. coarse aggregate No. 53 in accordance with 301 Type IB. IIA 8 in. chemical soil modification III In-place compaction in accordance with 203.23 IV 12 in. coarse aggregate No. 53 with Type IB geo eogrid in accordance e with 214 IVA 12 in. coarse aggregate with Geo eocell confining system in accordance e with 214 V 3 in. of subgrade ex excavated ed and replaced with 3 in. coarse aggregate No. 53
Typical Subgrade treatment • Subgrade is constructed with cement-soil modification with increase strength of 100 psi over natural soils as per section 215 • Usually 4% to 5% cement is used • 14 in of subgrade is constructed • LWD and/or Dynamic Cone Testing is performed • Resilient Modulus of 8,000 to 9,000 psi is recommended for the pavement
