BUSINESS MODEL & SUSTAINABILITY COST ECONOMIES OF PROJECT • Villagers are provided with low cost purified water Details Amount at 1/4th price (Rs 5 i.e 6 Euro Cents for a 20 litre €30000 Initial Fixed Cost water can) • €2500 Water Entrepreneurs acting as distributors get this Annual Recurring Cost money to cover their transportation costs & earn €12500 Annual Savings on cost of revenue upto € 2500- € 5000 per year without any internal consumption investment • WCL saves money spent on purchase of bottled Time taken to recover 3 years water from external agencies of amount € 12500 costs The investment of €30000 has been recovered within 3 years of its operation Through Hybrid model, WCL is not just investing in water plant but also maintaining it and is able to provide low cost purified water to villagers and also create new age water entrepreneurs who earn revenue without any investment

REPLICATION STRATEGY RO plant utilises mine discharge water from – Patansaongi UG mine which discharges Mine Water 222 Mil 190,000 liters/day Availability for Ltrs/Day community use Total Mine Water discharge of Western Coalfields Limited – 377 Million Ltrs/day • Another RO plant of similar capacity(10000 liters/hour) installed in Waghoda Village presently serving population of 10,000. • Plans for commercial launch of Coal Neer in the market at a very nominal cost

REPLICATION STRATEGY Hybrid Funding Model replicated in non-water areas 1 2 3 LOW COST HOUSING MINE TOURISM SKILL DEVELOPMENT Sand extracted from Mines being offered as In-house training centers Overburden of Coal Mines tourist locations in also being used from skill being sold commercially (at collaboration with State development of rural youth regular prices) & to local Tourism Department government agency (At 1/5 th Market Price)
