How to write slides (an incomplete guide) Nov. 30, 2000
These are the notes for the title page • Explain how to orient the slides on the projector: the speaker should be able to read them, as he faces the public. • It is not recommended for the speaker to stand between the projector and the screen (well, except if he/she is transpar- ent). • Better to point to the screen, instead of the slide. • Show in practice what you mean. 0-1

A few ideas Use large letters. Be concise. E.g.: instead of if a function is differentiable then it is continuous say differentiability = ⇒ continuity 2
Differentiability versus Continuity Thm. differentiability = ⇒ continuity Q: Is the converse true? A: Not in general. However: Thm. absolute continuity = ⇒ a.e. differentiability 3
Differentiability versus Continuity Thm. differentiability = ⇒ continuity Q: Is the converse true? A: Not in general. However: Thm. absolute continuity = ⇒ a.e. differentiability 3-a
Differentiability versus Continuity (the two slides on top of each other) Thm. differentiability = ⇒ continuity Q: Is the converse true? A: Not in general. However: Thm. absolute continuity = ⇒ a.e. differentiability 4
