  14. Spanish Spanish The first level of each world language will introduce students to the basics of each language. Students in Research class work on "cascarones", confetti filled eggs, as part of their cultural studies on "Carnaval" in Spanish- speaking countries.

  15. French French The first level of each world language will introduce students to the basics of each language. Students celebrate the shape of the Eiffel Tower.

  16. American Sign Language The first level of each world language will introduce students to the basics of each language. Students to begin to acquire proficiency in American Sign Language through a linguistic, communicative, and cultural approach to language learning.

  17. Performing Arts

  18. Band Band promotes the enjoyment and appreciation of music through performance of high- quality, wind and percussion literature from different times and places. Please contact our Band Director, Mrs. Bruijn if interested.  Fair Share Donation: $370

  19. Jazz Ensemble Students with experience on an instrument suited for jazz ensemble explore the fundamentals of performance practices, improvisation, and music theory through a diverse repertoire of high- quality jazz literature. Audition Only Course. See Mrs. Bruijn if interested.

  20. Drama Drama promotes enjoyment and appreciation for all aspects of theatre. Audition Level classes also offered – See Mr. Beaman if interested. No Fair Share for Introduction to Drama. Audition Level Drama: Fair Share Donation: $75

  21. Chorus promotes the enjoyment and appreciation of music through performance of beginning choral repertoire from a variety of times and places. Audition Level Chorus Classes are also offered – please contact Mr. Dodd if interested. No Fair Share for entry level chorus. Audition Level Chorus Classes: Chorus Fair Share Donation: $200

  22. Musical Theater Musical Theater focuses on, but is not limited to, acting, vocal performance, dance, non-dance movement, and staging, which transfer readily to performances in musicals and other venues. *Audition Only – If interested contact Mr. Dodd.

  23. Guitar Guitar develops basic guitar skills and knowledge, including simple and full-strum chords, bass lines and lead sheets, barre and power chords, foundational music literacy and theory, major scales, simple finger- picking patterns, and ensemble skills for a variety of music.   24. Keyboard builds piano techniques and skills through reading music, acquiring and applying knowledge of music theory, and exploring the role of keyboard music in history and culture. Upper levels are also offered please see Mrs. Bruijn if interested. Keyboard 1 Fair Share: $25 Keyboard 2-4 Keyboard Fair Share: $50

  25. AP Music Theory Theory  The purpose of this course is to develop the student’s ability to recognize and understand the basic materials and processes in any music that is heard or read in score.  Students are expected to take a final AP exam.

  33. Weight Training The purpose of this course is to develop the physical skills necessary to be competent in many forms of movement as it relates to weight training. If interested, contact Coach Brighton.

Team Sports The purpose of this course is to develop the physical skills necessary to be competent in many forms of movement, knowledge of team sports concepts such as offensive and defensive strategies and tactics, and appropriate social behaviors within a team or group setting. Army JROTC CHARACTER, TRUST, TEAMWORK, DISCIPLINE, SERVICE.  Our mission is to MOTIVATE AND YOUNG PEOPLE TO BE BETTER CITIZENS, as such JROTC training is in NO WAY related to preparing you for enlistment in the military.   38. Aerospace In partnership with Academy Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, St. Augustine High School offers an introduction to the career tracks of Aviation and Aerospace Engineering. Most students may earn dual enrollment credits from Embry-Riddle, a savings of up to $20,000. If interested please see Mrs. Maltby.
