Hello Parents, The details about our upcoming trip are coming together. The students have been really busy! They spent last week planning meals, shopping for ingredients, and packing group gear. This week they have been researching our destinations, cooking (and freezing) some food for the trip, and making phone calls to schedule tours and activities for the group. On Thursday we will unpack and practice setting up our new tents! We will also shop for fresh ingredients. Friday will be spent packing up the vans and truck and doing some vehicle maintenance. Saturday, April 23 7:00 AM - Arrive with small daypack with things needed for travel. We will be driving to Mammoth Cave National Park to camp for two nights. Sunday, April 24 We will be exploring the caves and trails in the park. Monday, April 25 Drive to Abraham Lincoln’s birthplace to tour. Drive to the Red River Gorge where we will camp at Natural Bridge State Park. Tuesday, April 26 – Thursday, April 28 Explore the Red. (hiking, rock climbing, boating, and more!) Friday, April 29 Drive home – arrival late (hopefully by midnight) Phones - Students are NOT allowed to bring their own phones or any other electronic device besides a watch and/or camera. Lleanna will keep parents up to date on our progress as she did on our Odyssey trip via Hubbli. Cell service could be spotty in the woods, but our contact numbers are: Saasha - 785.764.6579 Will - 952.334.5750 Clay - 913.645.8907 The Red River Adventure waiver, the Torrent Fall Climbing Adventure waiver, and the Medication and Agreement Form (later in this document) need to be filled out and returned by Thursday, April 21 . ¡ We are all excited and looking forward to the trip! Students must be well and fever-free (without the use of fever-reducing medications) 24 hours before the trip. We have faith that all our students will conduct themselves in a mature manner, mindful of the fact that their behavior reflects on themselves, their family and their school. However, if inappropriate behavior compromises the safety or well being of others, we will follow through with the consequence described above.
