Club Qualification • Signed Memorandum of Understanding ( Signers not required to complete GMT) • At least 2 members attend/complete Grant Management Training • Not delinquent with Reporting, Payment of Dues or Tax Returns 3
Terms of Qualification • Valid for one Rotary year • Involve the active, personal participation of Rotarians • Disclose potential conflicts of interest • Proper use of grant funds • Timely grant reporting 4
Source of Grant Funding • Annual Fund 2017-18 : $161,314 (50% of the funds available can be used for local grants) • DDF Fund World Fund District Grants Global Grants $89,849* $80,657 *Includes additional funding per TRF Trustees 5

District Grants • Local or international community projects • Relate to the mission of TRF • Include active participation of Rotarians • Project expenses may not be incurred prior to approval • Award criteria will include club’s past contributions to TRF 7
District Grants • Should be innovative, flexible, and simple so they may be completed within the Rotary fiscal year • Receipts required for all expenditures • Must avoid legacy projects • May apply for scholarship funds 8

How to Apply for a District Grant • Must apply on line at District website • Only individuals completing grant management training can enter grant request • No changes after July 31st unless directed 11
How Do I Apply Do not wait until July 31 st to apply Only Qualified Clubs may apply (signed MOU and 2 members trained) You must log in to the District website If your club does not use Club Runner, follow the instructions for a new user. Click on Member Area 12

District Grants Application Deadlines July 31, 2020: Last day to submit application August 1, 2020: Committee reviews applications and submits spending plan to TRF for approval September 1, 2020: Grant approval notification. Funds disbursed when block grant is received May 31, 2021: Final report with receipts due or 30 days after the project is completed. 22

Global Grant Basics Minimum Project Size: $30,000 Minimum Match from TRF: $15,000 Maximum Grant from TRF: $200,000 Maximum Project Size: Unlimited 25
Types of Global Grants • Humanitarian Projects • Vocational Training Teams • Global Scholarships • Can be a combination of any of these types 26
Fund Large Scale- Activities • Align with one or more of the Areas of Focus • Are host community driven • Exhibit good Stewardship of funds awarded • Provide long term benefit Sustainable • Include active Rotarian participation • Are measurable 27
Vocational Training Teams • Rotarian team leader and members with a minimum work experience in Area of Focus • Provide professional training • May support travel of multiple teams • Must align with Areas of Focus • Duration of trip flexible 28
Global Grant Scholarships • Graduate level coursework • 1 to 4 academic years • Study in Area of Focus • Further the mission of TRF • Applicant must provide proof of admission 29
Global Grant Funding Club Contribution: $10,000 District Contribution: $10,000 (Match $1.00 for $1.00) TRF World Fund Match: $15,000 (Match Club $0.50/$1.00 & District $1 for $1) Total Grant Amount: $35,000 30
Eligibility Guidelines Grant funds must not be used for: • New construction of habitation structures Purchase of land or buildings • Cooperating organization expenses • • Personal benefit • Duplication of TRF or Rotary program • Reimbursement of existing project • Excessive support of any one beneficiary 31
Sustainability • The capacity for maintaining outcomes long-term to serve the ongoing needs of a community after grant funds have been expended • Optimal use of local resources • Prepare community for transition 32
Stewardship The responsible management and oversight of grant funds including: • Rotarian supervision of project • Standard business practices • Reporting of irregularities to TRF • Implementing projects as approved • Financial records review • Timely submission of reports 33
Bank Accounts Separate account(s) must be established for Rotary grants Payment will only be submitted to a bank account specifically for the project Project account names should be easily identifiable by club and project 34
Reporting Timeline Report online Progress reports are due at least every 12 months for the life of the project Final Report is due within two months of the project’s completion Documentation retention - 5 years 35
