Gold Project: Toll Korean Club By Connor Choi and Jaren Bautista
Proposal Our proposed project will help teach people about Korean culture at Toll because the more you know about a culture, the less divisive the school will be. The school may have less discrimination between ethnicities, and the school may improve relations between the students. We did a few things differently than in our project proposal to have a better experience for the members and ourselves.

Poster Plan We made posters around late February, and put them around the campus. This is a picture of one of the posters. -->
1st Meeting (3/3/17) INTRODUCTION Jaren was unable to come due to a New York/DC trip meeting, so Connor had to lead the meeting. The meeting was a brief introduction of what the club planned. There was Korean food, which the attendants enjoyed. 14 people came.
2nd Meeting (4/7/17) HISTORY of KOREA We played a video about Korea’s history, but were not able to finish due to some technical issues when trying to play the video. There were a few more participants (probably for food), but not everyone signed in. About 17 people come. Suggestions/donations box -->
2nd½ Meeting (4/14/17) We were going to change meetings from every 1st and 3rd week to every week, but forgot to tell Mr. Lee, the faculty advisor. He didn’t come, so there was confusion. Around 6 people came. After the meeting->
3rd Meeting (4/21/17) KOREAN GAMES We played traditional Korean games, like Gongi, Ddakji, and Yutnori. We conducted a survey, more information is on the next page. The participants enjoyed the games and the food, and there were more participants, even though we could not get an Around 20 people attended.
Club Survey On the third meeting, we handed out a survey to everyone, and collected them to see their thoughts on the club. Somehow, we only got 7 completed surveys, but we could see what the members thought of the club. The questions and results of the survey are on the following pages.
Survey Questions: 1. Why did you join this club? 2. Would you recommend attending this club to another student? Why? 3. Are there ways we can improve the clb? If so, please leave your suggestions. 4. What do you like about this club? 5. What more would you like to see from this club?
Survey Results The survey show that our project met the goals of what we planned. The members of the club said that they came for food or to learn. ● ● All of them would recommend the club to another person. They had fun and enjoyed the food we provided. ● However, there were some issues that can be resolved. Some people wanted the meetings to be organized better. ● ● No one wanted to lead the club the following year.
Special Thanks We would like to thank Mr. Lee for his support, and especially for letting us use his classroom for the club. We would also like to thank Connor’s dad for bringing food for everyone every week. Most importantly, we would like to thank the members who participated in our club. There can’t be a club without members, so we thank them for joining us and having fun.
Conclusion We have helped others learn about Korea by exposing students to Korean history, culture, and social activities. We hope we can make a difference and educate more people. We plan to continue the club until mid/late May and have more things planned. We are considering survey’s feedback to improve our meetings by being better organized.
