Freeman Public Schools Lockdown Drill Thursday, August 29th 1:20 PM
Today, we will go through our Standard Response Protocol for emergency situations and get you prepared for Thursday’s drill.
4 ACTIONS Shelter Lockout Lockdown Evacuate
LOCKOUT! Secure the Perimeter
LOCKDOWN! Locks, Lights, Out of Sight.
EVACUATE! To a Location
SHELTER! For a Hazard Using a Safety Strategy
WHY LOCKDOWN? Something dangerous inside the building
LOCKDOWN! Locks, Lights, Out of Sight.
STUDENTS Stay out of sight of the corridor window
STUDENTS Be silent
STUDENTS Do not open the door for anyone
DISCUSSION: Difference between lockout & lockdown?
DISCUSSION: What if you’re outside?
DISCUSSION: What if there’s no teacher?
DISCUSSION: What if you’re in the hallway?
Are we ready for tomorrow’s ◤ Lockdown Drill? ❑ Are we following ALL instructions from your teacher? ❑ Are we sitting down? ❑ Are we completely silent? ❑ Are we refraining from making any noises (tapping, knocking, laughing, etc)? ❑ Is your phone put away?

How would your class (and yourself) score during the execution of a lockdown drill? 1 - VISIBLE/MOVING AROUND, CONVERSING LOUDLY 2 – NOT VISIBLE BUT ◤ TALKING/NOISES HEARD 3 – SEATED, NO TALKING BUT NOISE IS HEARD 4-NOT VISIBLE, NO MOVEMENT, NO SOUND AT ALL
