  2. What is Fiverr? Launched in 2010, Fiverr is an online website platform that connects freelance artists of numerous backgrounds to customers worldwide. Services can range from Graphic Design, Voice Over, Writing, Programming etc.

  3. Criticisms of Fiverr Celebration of the Gig economy: Many artists will starve and literally work themselves to death for the sake of “a gig”, rather than taking care of themselves, Fiverr encourages this mindset in their adwork.

  4. $5 Commission Fiverr has been known to advertise exceedingly low prices, starting at $5, which is criminally low (lower than minimum wage in the US which is $7.25 by average). If you do make a sale, Fiverr takes about 30%-40% of your commission, if you make $5, you only see $4. (And this also does not include PayPal fees) The freelancer overall is criminally undersold and makes little to no profit for themselves.

  5. The Better Business Bureau rated Fiverr an “F” The BBB’s Job is to rate local businesses to which they have been given the lowest of an “F” in 2014. This has since gone up to a B+ but they have a star rating of 1 out of 5

  6. What we did We made a fake profile on Fiverr that was ridiculous extremely ridiculous, involving a fake pictures, fake mock ups, fake bio, etc etc.

  7. Bio “We’ll take your childhood dreams, and rebuild de la mode, its takes 2 days to fabricate and 2 days to ship , made recycled ivory and the tears of abandoned dolphins blessed by the lunar goddess. the figures will be made from crushed faberge eggs from a private dealer in St Petersburg Russia—> photos posted on fiverr will be of demo model, $30.”

  8. The Goal Originally the goal was that we would build a profile, make our own profiles and try and add reviews.

  9. Results In order to leave a comment, you would have had to buy the actual product. This was an unforeseen hiccup in our project. This is odd overall since other sites ie, Amazon, you only need an account to leave a comment, you can be a verified purchase for a product but you don’t need to actually buy something to comment.

  10. Overall If you’re going to use Fiverr... Don’t.
