We are here for you! We as educators and parents acknowledge how difficult online education is for families and teachers. We understand this is a time to lift one another up with hope, grace and support in circumstances that are not ideal.

Student and Family Support Support our families = support our children. ● Staff will have office hours every day ● Video tutorials to help parents and students. ● We will also provide technical ‘Helpdesk’ ● support via email and phone

Start of the Year Schedule We are all eager to get started with our students! ● September 8-11: Planning and School Communication ● September 14-18: Week of Welcome Students begin - focus on setting expectations and building relationships, Virtual Open Houses, personal phone calls ● September 21: Online Academic Instruction begins

New Curriculum: Fuel Ed ▪ Comprehensive program for all subjects ▪ New platform: Newrow ▪ Teachers will still be able to add in supplements ▪ Reading, Writing, Math, Social Studies, Science, Art, PE, Music, and wellness

School Supplies We typically charge a $20.00 supply fee for each of ● our students. We will not be charging parents during distance ● learning. When we go back to school in person we may charge ● families a prorated amount. Supply kits for each of our students with basic supplies ● provided by the school. Our curriculum will also be providing supplies ●
Breakfast and Lunch We will serve free breakfast and free lunch to ● all who are enrolled in David Douglas schools Grab and Go ● Breakfast and Lunch served together ● Lunch and Breakfast: served 12:00-1:00. ● Locations: ● Neighborhood school ○ Distribution via bus stops starting ○ September 14th
Grading ● We will continue with our proficiency-based grading system ● You will receive report cards ● Students will have opportunities for regular feedback from teachers Instruction will be aligned to grade level ● standards ● Assessments will be given to measure progress
How You Can Support Take care of yourself and give yourself grace ● Have a clear daily routine for your kids to follow. ● This includes wake up times, bed time, meals, movement, etc Find a quiet space for learning ● Follow daily schedule shared by the teacher ● Have supplies ready in your learning space ● Students attend every live session ●
