  1. F4A Class Presentation - Chemistry Reporter(x5): Caesium: Sodium: Fluorine: Neon: Intro- Reporter: In the periodic table, there are many elements. They are now selecting a leader which is called Chief Executive for their country. There are four candidates running for the campaign and they are visiting different districts. Our reporters are going to interview them. Scene 1- Reporter Cs: Caesium is now in Aberdeen station. Let ’ s see if we can have a talk with her first. (Reporter Cs walks to Caesium) Reporter Cs: Nice to meet you. May I ask you a couple of questions? Caesium: Sure! Reporter Cs: First, do you think you are better than other elements? And why? Caesium: Of course I am. I am reactive as I am a group 1 metal. I am keen to give out electron in order to follow the octet rule which means everyone can be peaceful with my giveaway of electron! I am the most generous among four of us! Reporter Cs: It seems you are confident of yourself! Thanks and see you later. (Both go away) Scene 2- Reporter Na: Sodium is now having his lunch as Harbour City before the visit to Tsim Sha Tsui. I will try to do an interview with him first. (Reporter Na walks to Sodium) Reporter Na: Excuse me, Mr Sodium. I am a journalist from Atomic Television. May I ask you some questions? Sodium: Sure.

  2. Reporter Na: What can you do for the economy of periodic table? Sodium: I play a vital role in the industrial activities. I can exchange heat in some nuclear reactors. I can also be a reagent in the chemical industry. I am useful in daily life too! I can make salt for flavoring different food and washing clothes! Reporter Na: You are pretty useful for our economy, aren’t you? Thanks you. (Both go away) Scene 3- Reporter F: Hello, citizens. The lady beside me is fluorine. Miss Flourine, do you think you are different from Miss Caesium and Mr Sodium? And are you better than them? Fluorine: As you know, I am a halogen. I am extremely poisonous comparing to them. That's why I am not loved by any citizens. Also, I have a simple molecular structure. Therefore, I am weak. But I am good for the oral health as I can help your teeth to absorb a higher amount of calcium. Reporter F: Then, it seems that you are not capable to be the Chief Executive. Fluorine: (Angry and point at Reporter F) How dare you insult me? (Leave) Reporter F: (Chasing fluorine) Oh I am sorry! Scene 4- Reporter Ne: There is a meeting between Mr Neon and media. I will try to ask him a question first. (Walk to Neon) Reporter Ne: Mr Neon. What kind of society do you want to shape periodic table to be? Neon: Be peaceful. That's my only hope. Reporter Ne: Why? Neon: I am a noble gas and I don’t like any chaos and fights among elements. I won ’ t react with other elements as I love to follow the octet rule which means I behave the best and won’t fight with other elements to make myself more useful. I must be the most well-disciplined element among four of us. Reporter Ne: Thanks for sharing.

  3. (Both go away) (Reporter moves onto the stage) Reporter: It’s the end of the News Report. And now, it comes t o the 2017 Chief Executive Candidates Forum Scene 5- The host: Welcome to the 2017 Chief Executive Candidates Forum. It’s a great honor to have four of our candidates here. Let’s welcome them. (Clap) The host: We have collected some questions randomly which is from the public. Now, we will invite them to ask our candidates questions in order. The first questioner, please. (Give a mic to Questioner 1) Questioner 1: Miss Caesium, you are one of the most reactive metals, what contribution can you make to our country? Caesium: Umm. I react explosively with water. During the process, I can release a large amount of energy. Also, I am used in making the atomic clock, which is regarded as “the most accurate realization of a unit that manked has yet achieved”. That’s why I’m always punctual. The host: Thank you Miss Caesium. Let’s move to the next question. Questioner 2: Mr Sodium, since you need to live inside paraffin oil which can separate oxygen to avoid reacting with oxygen. Do you think you can find out the social issues easily? Sodium: Yes, I can only stay in air for short period of time. I think this small amount of time is enough to let me know more about the public. Also, Caesium needs to be stored in paraffin oil too. The host: Thanks a lot for you both. Next question. Questioner 3: Miss Fluorine, since you are very unstable and poisonous, do you think you can really competent to be a Chief Executive? Fluorine: (Looks very angry) I don’t think I will be affected by this. As I am very reactive, I can react with almost all elements. See, I am so cooperative! Caesium: Miss Fluorine, I don't think you behave as good as a Chief Executive. You are too poisonous that many early chemists were badly hurt or even killed by you. You are such the gas of Lucifer! Fluorine: How dare you insult me personally! (F walks closer to Caesium and point at him/ her)

  4. Fluorine: Not only I am dangerous but also Caesium and Sodium. You guys are flammable and corrosive and react with acid or water to form an explosive reaction easily! Caesium: I’m asying this based on the facts. And it’s nothing personal. (Fluorine and Caesium start fighting. Sodium fighting. Sodium wants to stop them but is affected) The host: Umm. Caesium and Sodium formed a salt with Fluorine and Neon just flew away as he is too stable that he can’t attach to anything to save himself! Such a mess this year! It seems we can’t select our Chief Executive this year. Let’s see how will the government deal with this problem. -End- Roles
