The Vessel profile window should remain open to allow viewing of the Crane List for the vessel. You can minimize this to get the window off the desktop. 3

XPS – Setting up your screen Opening the Points of Work Select Control>Points of Work – When you open the POW to reveal the work queues, notice the symbols to the right of the work queues. Reefer unit(s) need to be unplugged prior to dispatch Reefer unit(s) have been unplugged. Indicates a twin lift 6
XPS – Setting up your screen Queues within the POW - When working a vessel, it is best to open a complete list of the STS queues to be worked. Double click on the desired POW to open the entire list of Work Instructions assigned to that crane. You can, however, open an individual bay queue by double clicking your choice in the POW. 7
XPS – Setting up your screen The list of moves in the POW will be displayed in the bay order the Queues within the POW - crane is intended to be worked. The same order the bays show in the POW window. Note that each queue typically starts with seq.1. 8
XPS – Setting up your screen Choosing a dispatcher - Ensure the Dispatch Mode for the crane is Prime Route when the vessel starts or your moves will not automatically dispatch . From the POW window, highlight the STS crane, choose Actions>Set Dispatch Mode>Prime Route WHY? So the system will automatically generate rehandles! 9
XPS – Setting up your screen Activating Work Queues in the POW In the POW, highlight the work queues Actions>Activate Queue. The queues will change color from black (inactive) to blue (active). Only the boxes in active queues will automatically dispatch. 10

XPS – Planning & looking ahead Are there live reefers to load that will need to be unplugged? Ensure M&R knows to update N4 when the units have been unplugged or the Dispatch State will show ‘On Power’ and the units will not dispatch. Notice that seq. 10 is physically on top of seq. 6. Can seq. 10 be taken to the whip without compromising productivity? Or does the weight of seq. 6 dictate that seq. 6 load first? Do we shift seq. 10 onto the berth or contact the planner to see if we can switch the load order? 16
XPS – Planning & looking ahead Seq. 11 below, shows the current location of this container as EC. EC indicates the unit is planned to move out of it’s current location, but does not yet have a planned position in the yard. This container shows it has a YARD move in the SOUTHSHIFTWORK queue to be completed prior to the LOAD move to the vessel. When you see 2 moves like this, you will need to notify the OCC and your AOM! This will not dispatch unless OCC reverts the move from the shift queue! 17
XPS – Working the Vessel Are moves not automatically dispatching? • Ensure the POW has Prime Route as the Dispatcher, the correct Pool of Equipment has been assigned to the correct POW and all queues are active (blue). • Ensure that the work shift is accurate 18
XPS – Working the Vessel Are moves not automatically dispatching? • Ensure the XPS Vessel Schedule shows the vessel in the Working Visit Phase. If not, notify the Vessel Planner to advance the Visit Phase to Working in N4 19
XPS – Working the Vessel Suspending Auto Dispatch The VC Checker/ Dockforeman may need to temporarily stop a ST/SC from being automatically dispatched to a move. Highlight the ST/SC in Pools and Equipment > Actions > Suspend Auto Dispatch * When the ST/SC is able to receive automatic dispatch, do the same thing, but choose Resume Auto Dispatch. 20
XPS – Working the Vessel Abandoning a job - Strad 999 is dispatched to seq. 1 in the X6.2 position. There is a box in X6.3 covering the target, but the X6.3 box is also loading the vessel, though not until after seq. 5. All of these units are empty. What is the Extra clerks role in this situation? 21
XPS – Working the Vessel Abandoning a job 1. Suspend Auto dispatch for S999 2. Abandon the current job on his screen. In the Pools and Equipment window, highlight the ST/SC>Actions>Abandon Job. This will automatically place the SHFT move on Bypass. 22
XPS – Working the Vessel Abandoning a job 3. Revert the SHFT move – Highlight the container in the LOAD queue and click the revert button. 4. Highlight the X6.3 Load box and click inside the dispatch button for the ST/SC, then resume Auto dispatch. 23
