INTERNATIONAL TRADE OF INDONESIA - CANADA • Indonesia’s export growth to Canada increased from 1,42% (USD733 million) to 12.22% (USD822 million) in 2017. The export products are dominated by natural rubber (18.44%), cocoa (5.49%), footwear (3.83%), sports footwear (3.44%), uncoated paper & paperboard (3.01%) , and coffee (2.69%) as well as textile products such as men’s suits (2.74%), women’s suits (2.67%), etc. • In line with the export performance, Indonesia’s import growth from Canada also rose significantly from -14.06% (USD1,383 million) to 34.54% (USD1,861 million) where the import components are mostly consisted of wheat and meslin (35.54%), chemical fertilizer (22.93%), chemical wood pulp (excluding dissolving grades) (15%), chemical wood pulp (including dissolving grades) (3.91%), wood pulp (2.77%), iron ores and concentrates (1.84%), shrimp (1,58%), aircraft (1.46%), etc. • Therefore, higher Indonesia’s import value than export value to Canada generated a deficit amounted to USD1,039 million in 2017. INTERNATIONAL TRADE OF CANADA – WORLD • Canada ‘s export growth increased significantly from -4.83% to 8.11% in 2017, where its export products was dominated by petroleum oils (crude) (13.03%), motor cars (11.21%), gold (4.64%), and petroleum oils (proceed) (3.19%). • Meanwhile, Canada’s import growth also rose from -3.99% to 7.31%, mainly contributed from several import products namely motor cars (5.97%), part for tractors and motor vehicles (4.28%), motor vehicles (3.28%), petroleum oil (crude) (2.66%). • Therefore, higher Canada’s import value than export value to the world generated a deficit amounted to USD11,773 million in 2017.
