(ULS)  An award winning set of online interactive tools specifically designed for preschool through transition students with special needs to access the general curriculum – CARES and Learning Center  Provides students with rigorous, standards based materials to meet their instructional needs in ELA, Math, Science and Social Studies  Users interact with differentiated, thematic units of study with text-to-speech, interactive components, hundreds of activities and multiple opportunities to show what they know

  3. Standards Based N2y uses Instructional Targets to link academic content standards to curriculum materials and activities

Six Grade Bands  Age – respectful, engaging materials for all students  Based on chronological age not developmental age  Aligned to General Education standards for core subjects at each grade level  Activities include multiple means of presenting information including static visual representation onscreen, hearing text to speech, and hands on learning

Differentiated Materials  Provides a means of access to standards-based instruction for students with diverse needs.  Given appropriate materials and adapted methods for instruction, all students participate in rigorous, daily classroom instruction.  Each student’s academic profile in Unique Learning System generates his or her instructional support level. The support levels are: Level 3: Students read text, produce simple writing, perform basic math processes, and demonstrate comprehension of modified learning information independently. Level 2: Students may require symbol support and other direct instruction for learning and comprehension. Level 1: Students require extensive and pervasive support . Increasing participation is the main objective.

Comprehensive Reading Program  Unique Learning System includes all vital components of a reading program within each of its grade bands  Created and verified by reading experts, reading instruction, specific approaches, and methods as well as reading materials are included  Additional leveled books are included in the n2y Library — a searchable collection of more than 1,000 titles to access and use with students!

Comprehensive Math Program  Standards-based assessments and direct instruction in a complete math program for the following: one-to-one correspondence, number sense, time, measurement, graphing, telling time, geometry, algebra and more.  Math materials are presented with onscreen manipulatives as well as visual and auditory cues and offline practice, printable pages, and application opportunities.  Students can express what they’ve learned by acting out math scenarios, manipulating interactive materials and applying skills in everyday life.
