What is Erasmus for Young entrepreneurs? • Programme co-financed by the European Commission. • Transnational exchange between new entrepreneurs and experienced ones. • Promotion of mutual learning to enhance the quality of businesses and facilitate new market access. • Since 2009, close to 4.520 exchanges have taken place, meaning that close to 9.040 entrepreneurs have benefitted from the programme.
What is Erasmus for Young entrepreneurs? • Since 2009, out of a total 15.296 received applications, 84% (12.962) have been accepted. 8.080 (62%) are new entrepreneurs 4.882 (38%) are host entrepreneurs 3
What is Erasmus for Young entrepreneurs? Involved stakeholders • European Commission • Local contact points Beneficiaries • New entrepreneurs (NE) • Entrepreneurs who are firmly planning to set up their own business or have already started one within the last three years. Experienced entrepreneurs (HE) • Experienced entrepreneurs who own or manage a Small or Medium- Sized Enterprise in one of the Participating Countries. 4
How does it work ? • The host entrepreneur (HE) receives a new entrepreneurs (NE) from another participating country: • 28 Member States of the European Union, Albania, Armenia, Bosnia- Herzegovina, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Iceland, Montenegro, Moldova, Serbia and Turkey. • The exchange lasts between 1- 6 months. • The NE receives a financial support to contribute to travel and subsistence costs during the exchange. 5

How to participate? • Step 2- Matchmaking o Local contact points help in the matchmaking process. o Search function in the IT tool: More than 9.000 entrepreneurs registered on the IT tool. Highest participation from IT, ES, UK, DE, FR. o Specific LinkedIn group. 8

How to participate? • Step 3- Formalising the exchange o Develop an activity plan o Objectives o Activities and responsibilities o Expected results
How to participate? • Work at least 5 hours per week on the new entrepreneur’s project.. o Example (NE): Develop a marketing strategy. o Example (HE): internationalisation of his business. • The starting date of the exchange will be commonly agreed on by the HE and the NE.
How to participate? • Step 4- Exchange • The local contact points offer support during the stay. o Monitoring during the stay: visits, contact over the phone • Justification of expenditure o Final report: 10 page questionnaire (multiple choice).
What does the programme offer? Host entrepreneur • The HE receives new ideas, fresh insights. • Opportunity to get to know new markets. • Find new business opportunities in other EU markets. • Establish international business contacts. • Prestige and visibility.
