Banking Financial Services & Insurance (BSFI) Sector Skill Council The BFSI Sector Skill Council of India was recently set up to bring leading organizations of the BFSI industry together to create strategies and operational plans that will create standardized skill requirements for the various job roles in the industry. The skill council functions as vocational Skills regulator for BFSI sector. The sector skill council is Public Private Partnership with Industry and NSDC under Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. The BFSI Sector Skill Council of India has been set up with the aim of enhancing skill development across the BFSI sector for skill development programs under PMO/ Ministries. 5

  6. Zone Start -Up Overview: Startups selected thru competitive pitches, enrolled for the start up program at Zonestart ups. Selected start ups get: Co working space, Mentorship support, technical assistance, fund raising support, customer connects etc Achievements:  146 start ups incubated in last 3 years  22 start ups soft landed in Toronto  Funds raised : INR 237+ Crores  850+ new jobs have been created  271 internship opportunities across colleges  21 women entrepreneurs supported for a specialised program 6

Background India – Fast becoming a destination for Investment Banks and BSFI ITES companies 25+ global banks are expected to recruit 1.25 million in 3- 4 year, 50+ BFSI KPO organizations Sector witnessing employment growth rate of 15% Center for Monitoring of Indian Economy (CMIE), there are currently nearly 31 million unemployed Indians looking for Jobs . Current estimates show that less than 20% graduates passing out of Universities across the country, are employable. In context of the BFSI industry, these numbers are far lesser due to lack specialized domain skills and knowledge. 9

Industry and Recruitment  Lack of skilled manpower is one of the biggest constraint, which companies are facing in scaling up.  Companies are not able to build effective work force which will help build client relationships, cross sell, up sell or get client references  Lack of specific domain training prevents companies from capturing larger wallet share of clients.  Ready to perform employee – short training cycle .  Servicing team is not able to resolve client queries efficiently leading to customer discontentment.  Front end employees lack knowledge of operational aspects leading to higher ratio of form rejections and higher turn around time 10 10
