T RAINING & Q UALITY A SSURANCE Required Training Certificates: • Emergency Telecommunicator Certification (ETC) • Emergency Medical Dispatcher (EMD) Certification • Emergency Police Dispatcher (EPD) Certification • Emergency Fire Dispatcher (EFD) Certification • Maryland Electronic Telecommunications Enforcement Resource System (METERS)/National Crime Information Center (NCIC) • Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED through the American Heart Association Once successfully complete the training academy the new employee is assigned to a Certified Training Officer- Phase I- 160 hours- Navigating Special Operation Procedures, Human Recourse Policies, Geography and Mapping, Radio Verbiage, Basic CAD Functions, Phase II – 150 hours - On the job Training - Phones and call taking - Radio - Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) - Customer Service Phase III- Independent work, training objectives, Chart (trainee must explain, demonstrate and perform their duties)
